Hello Family and friends,
                    
    Lewis Elementary is excited to host its fourth annual Pride Walk - a school-wide walkathon event to be held on Friday, October 14th. This will be the primary fund raising event of the 2011-2012 school year and our goal is to raise $25,000. The funds raised will be shared by the school and the PTA to:
                    
-	Implement & fund academic tutoring programs

-	Develop & support enrichment activities

-	Provide EACH student with a gift certificate at the Spring Book fair

-	Replace out-of-date books and update book selection in the media center to fit student's interests and educational needs
(Hillsborough County School system only provides funding to replace approximately 90 books a year)

-	Provide upgrades to stage lighting and sound system in the cafeteria to enhance student performances

-	Support Writer's Camp, reading, math and technology programs
